Description
Under the PowerBoost stream, the only eligible activity is the implementation of an innovation audit, that will be reimbursed with a total of EUR 2000 once the audit is approved, aimed at identifying challenges and opportunities for the Applicant organisation to contribute to grid flexibility, sustainability, and digitalisation in the energy sector.
The innovation audit should help the SME understand its current processes, technologies, and operational gaps, and define areas where innovation or new technology adoption could improve efficiency, flexibility, or integration with renewable energy systems.
The innovation audit must result in a Challenge Description Report, prepared using the official template provided by GreenGrid.
The PowerBoost Open Call supports the implementation of an innovation audit and the preparation of a Challenge Description Report, which is a mandatory prerequisite for participation in the forthcoming Solution Box Open Call(s). The Solution Box scheme will provide financial support of up to EUR 30,000 for piloting or validating solutions addressing the identified challenges.
Completion of the Challenge Description Report does not automatically entitle the Applicant to funding under the Solution Box scheme. Participation in the Solution Box will be subject to a separate Open Call, with its own eligibility and evaluation criteria, an independent evaluation process, and a dedicated selection decision. The launch of the Solution Box Open Call is expected in Q3 2026.

Conditions
Typed facts extracted from the source documents by Scindu's grant-data review. Each value keeps its own conditions. Unknown means unstated, not zero or unlimited.
- Applicant restriction
- Applicants must satisfy the EU SME definition (<250 employees and turnover ≤EUR50m or balance-sheet total ≤EUR43m), have been legally registered at least one year at application and have at least one closed/approved financial year. Guide Chapter 3 says EEA and SMP-associated countries; Annex 1 says EU Member States or SMP-associated countries. This scope difference is preserved. Türkiye and Kosovo are expressly eligible under the Q&A; no blanket country-list extension is inferred. Industrial relevance is assessed qualitatively from the application’s credible electricity-use/renewables/congestion/efficiency impact, without a prescribed NACE list or separate sector evidence. Other exclusions and conflict rules apply.
- Applicant restriction
- Applicants must have no disqualifying GreenGrid connection/conflict, fraud/illegal-business convictions, bankruptcy or ongoing bankruptcy/insolvency, or EU restrictive-measure/sanctions/conditionality disqualification (including the stated EU-values condition). Avoid or immediately declare personal/professional/financial/family/employment/ownership conflicts throughout submission/evaluation/implementation. Identified conflicts lead to exclusion; undisclosed conflicts may cause rejection/termination. Annex 1 confirms financial capacity, truthful information, no duplicate EU/national/regional activity funding and no submission of that same activity elsewhere during implementation. False statements may cause rejection, termination or recovery.
- Application restriction
- Annex5permits conditional recommendation where the application reaches the minimum quality threshold but minor weaknesses require clarification or correction before contracting; funding is recommended only if those issues are addressed. This is a narrow post-evaluation/pre-contract branch. It coexists with Chapter8’s prohibition on considering post-deadline additional information or external-link material and does not give all applicants a right to revise, reopen a closed intake or receive funding.
- Application restriction
- Selected applicants receive notification and an agreement for electronic signature with Sunrise Tech Park. Q&A requires signature within one month of award notification and both parties’ signatures before audit activities/costs become eligible. No pre-contract costs are reimbursed. Chapter6/FAQFA5 expect results approximately/within four weeks after cutoff; FAQFA4 separately says approximately three weeks plus one–two weeks contracting. These indicative timing differences are preserved. Annex4 template enters into force on the coordinator signature, distinct from the Q&A both-signatures audit-start condition; a blank template does not prove an executed award.
- Application restriction
- All applicants receive an Evaluation Summary Report with criterion scores and feedback. Procedural complaints go in writing to the Call Management Team, subject Complaint – PowerBoost Open Call, within seven calendar days from receiving results, identifying applicant/contact, proposal, procedural error and evidence. A neutral panel uninvolved in the initial evaluation checks procedure, without re-evaluating content; notification is due within15calendar days after complaint submission and the panel decision is stated final/binding. Before signing the Sub-Grant Agreement applicants may withdraw before or after evaluation by written email to the call manager, subject Withdrawal – PowerBoost Open Call; receipt ends evaluation/ranking/contracting, and post-approval withdrawal terminates contracting without further obligations.
- Application restriction
- Date/status sources conflict: SEDIA record lists opening 3 February 2026, cut-offs 3 April 2026 and 31 August 2027, plus a separate closingDate of 19 May 2026 and labels the call open in the captured search result. ECCP gives 3 April 2026 as the deadline. The current GreenGrid page says “Winners” and “Re-opens soon.” These sources do not establish current funded application acceptance or reconcile the 2027 cut-off with 19 May closingDate.
- Application restriction
- For selected applicants, the final Challenge Description Report submission date is agreed between Coordinator and Beneficiary and cannot be later than 31 October 2027.
- Application restriction
- Submit through the official online EU Survey application, with every field/annex and template Declaration of Honour duly signed by a valid qualified electronic signature; unsigned/invalid, incomplete, late and ineligible applications do not advance. The Annex 2 form in the guide is informational only. All applicants receive acknowledgement; email is the official notification channel, and applicants must maintain/check the contact address. No post-deadline additional information or external-link material is evaluated. No application is submitted by this review.
- Eligible project scope
- Only an innovation audit identifying energy/grid-flexibility/sustainability/digitalisation challenges is funded. It may be performed internally by a qualified technical/managerial team or freely chosen external expert; the SME remains responsible for quality/completeness/submission. Use the official Challenge Description Report template with measurable expected impacts and qualified electronic signature by the auditor. Q&A says an external auditor’s signature is sufficient if the SME is identified; no extra SME legal-representative signature is required for that case, although Annex 3 displays a legal-representative signature field. The same provider may assist multiple SMEs, but reports must be tailored: identical/substantially similar copies receive no reimbursement. General training, unrelated consultancy and technology implementation are excluded; audits completed or paid for before application are ineligible.
- Other condition
- The partner’s earlier minimum-20% report is now corroborated by the actual public guide. Chapter 10 and Annex 1 require matching support with at least 20% private financial sources (debt or own resources); the blank Annex 4 agreement expressly states at least 20% of total audit cost. Q&A requires a cost breakdown and a financial summary demonstrating the minimum20% own contribution, while also stating the accepted EUR2000 lump sum is independent of actual cost and no primary invoices/timesheets are requested. Preserve these distinct wordings and the template denominator; do not invent a universal EUR2500 minimum budget, salary rate or actual-cost reimbursement formula.
- Other condition
- Payment is one EUR2000 lump-sum bank transfer after approved activity and deliverables, independent of actual audit cost under the Q&A, with no participation/management fee. Submit the signed report and cost-category financial summary electronically within15calendar days after audit completion, by the agreed agreement deadline and no later31October2027. Reports must describe methods, findings/challenges, proposed improvements and quantified impacts; review checks approved-application consistency, quality and reasonable declared costs and may request clarification. Incomplete/unsigned/late reporting can delay/withhold payment; no completion/no documents means no payment. False statements, ineligible activity, breach or misuse may cause withholding/recovery. Annex4 adds a mandatory SME feedback survey and requested testimonial before payment; these are template duties, with no executed contract certified.
- Other condition
- Informational Annex2 asks company description≤100words and audit scope/purpose≤200words. Its women-led and young-entrepreneur checkboxes are information, not eligibility or scoring preference: women-led includes a top executive, active woman founder, >50%women ownership or≥30%women senior-management/board seats; young is a founder/co-founder/managing director aged18–35 at cutoff. Annex3 report template is maximum3pages with five specified narrative sections maximum100words each and a financial summary/own-contribution statement. Evaluator Annex6 forbids bias by nationality/gender/size/reputation, bars personal/family/financial/prior-preparation conflicts and employment/consultancy ties in the past three years, requires immediate disclosure/withdrawal and secure handling/deletion or return at project end.
- Other condition
- GreenGrid Chapter1 says it will launch four open-call streams “with80%funding up to EUR60000perSME.” This is a programme-wide overview statement, separate from PowerBoost’s fixed EUR2000accepted-audit lump sum, its minimum20%private-contribution wordings and template-specific denominator. The overview labels PowerBoost EUR2000, Solution Box EUR30000, Growth Box EUR50000 and Bridging Markets EUR3000; the latter are separate streams, not extra PowerBoost benefits or guaranteed awards. Do not add the labels into an entitlement or apply80%as an actual-cost payment formula to a PowerBoost grant that Q&A expressly calls fixed and cost-independent. No universal EUR2500minimumauditcost is inferred.
- Other condition
- Applications at or above the 12-point threshold are ranked by consensus-confirmed final score, then submission date and time; awards are allocated sequentially until budget exhaustion.
- Other condition
- Blank Annex4 requires three years of post-audit information on related contracts/cooperation/commercial engagements and investments/funding/capital expenditure in the coordinator’s reasonable format/deadlines. Keep complete accurate implementation/eligibility/result records securely for at least five years after completion of the GreenGrid project, longer if national law requires, available to consortium/EC/ECA/OLAF; inadequate records may lead to recovery. Distinguish this minimum record-retention clock from the template maximum personal-data retention. Avoid fraud/irregularities and immediately report suspicions; notify force majeure immediately and mitigate. Parties bear their own obligations/third-party-right responsibility; breach may trigger correction, withholding/termination, with full refund for false/misleading information or incomplete audit. Lithuanian law and competent Vilnius courts after failed amicable settlement, qualified eIDAS signatures, legal-entity bank account and no double funding are stated template terms. No executed agreement or enforceability conclusion is asserted.
- Other condition
- The guide says selected SME name/country/project/title/description/award date/duration/amount are published after each cutoff. Main communication section encourages logos and states the EU-support wording; Annex1 and the blank Annex4 make GreenGrid/EU-logo and support acknowledgement duties explicit for related materials. Applicant data are confidential and GDPR-processed for call evaluation/administration/reporting; access/correction/deletion rights apply, with storage limited to necessary EC/project reporting. The template separately limits personal-data retention to no more than five years after project completion. Template confidential information may be disclosed with written consent or when required by law/EC; audit materials/results remain beneficiary property except anonymised summaries for reporting/communication.
