Develop new technology
with university experts.
Tell us what you need to build. We help find the researchers, investigate grant funding and organise a university team around your project—so you can explore R&D without building every capability in-house.
Research capacity,
without starting from scratch.
Ambitious technology needs experimentation. You could build every capability in-house. Or work with university researchers, facilities, and a funding route shaped around the problem.
Build the capacity.
Carry the commitment.
Recruit the specialists, acquire the resources, fund the work, and absorb the technical uncertainty inside your business.
Bring the ambition.
Assemble the right expertise.
Work with academic capabilities that already exist. Explore eligible grant support and agree a project, contribution, and research milestone.
Find a route for your challengeCollaboration changes how you resource the work. Technical uncertainty and funding conditions still need careful review.
What would you build
with the right team?
A technology need is enough to begin.
You don’t need a grant application yet.
From scoping to delivery.
We help with the whole project.
Scindu helps shape the collaboration, not just make an introduction.
Turn the business need into a research question. Agree the unknowns, constraints, expected outcome, and a useful first milestone before assembling a project.
- YOU BRING
- The intended application, current approach, technical constraints and evidence you already have.
- WE WORK TOWARDS
- A research brief: the question, unresolved assumptions, target requirements and a useful first validation milestone.
- THE NEXT DECISION
- Is this a research problem, and what must the first phase establish?
Identify relevant researchers, facilities, and complementary disciplines. Investigate calls against the project, company, university partners, and any consortium or co-funding requirements.
- YOU BRING
- The brief, the capabilities already in your team, and any constraints on partners or company contribution.
- WE WORK TOWARDS
- An expertise map and funding-route review, with candidate partners, programme requirements and open questions.
- THE NEXT DECISION
- Is there relevant, interested expertise and a suitable route to resource the work?
Confirm partner interest, responsibilities, a project plan, and the application route. Align commercial terms, company contribution, IP expectations, and publication constraints before committing.
- YOU BRING
- Confirmed partner interest, proposed contributions, commercial requirements and institutional constraints.
- WE WORK TOWARDS
- An agreed project structure: work packages, responsibilities, a first milestone, application route and commercial scope.
- THE NEXT DECISION
- Do the partners agree on the work, contribution, IP and publication expectations?
If funding is awarded and the partners proceed, connect the research project to milestones, activities, decisions, and reports. Keep progress visible as the technical work develops.
- YOU BRING
- The funding decision, partner agreements and approved project plan, where the partners decide to proceed.
- WE WORK TOWARDS
- A linked delivery record with milestones, responsible people, progress updates and research evidence.
- THE NEXT DECISION
- What has the research established, and what should the next phase test?
Serious research.
Clear expectations.
A commercial partnership
Businesses pay for Scindu’s role in the engagement. Scope and commercial terms are agreed around the work.
Funding, checked against the project
Programme fit, eligibility, deadlines, partner conditions, and any company contribution are reviewed before a funding route is relied on.
Ownership, agreed early
IP, confidentiality, publication expectations, deliverables, and partner responsibilities belong in the setup.
A concrete first milestone
Define what the first phase should establish: feasibility, a validated method, a prototype, or another agreed research output.
A connection that
goes deeper than search.
Scindu’s university offer connects websites, people, research records, and the project lifecycle. That foundation helps us understand capabilities and shape relevant collaborations.

questions.
What kinds of challenges are a fit?
Challenges with a real research or technical uncertainty: new materials, industrial AI, energy systems, manufacturing processes, or another area where university expertise can help. We start by checking whether collaborative research is a sensible route.
Will a grant cover all of our costs?
That depends on the programme, eligible costs, company and partner circumstances, and the project structure. A company contribution may be required. We investigate the funding route before treating it as part of the project plan.
Who owns the resulting technology?
Ownership, access to results, confidentiality, publication rights, and any commercial licences need agreement between the partners. These belong in the collaboration setup, before research starts.
How does Scindu get paid?
We agree a paid scope with your business before work begins. Fees reflect the research preparation and coordination required. Partner responsibilities and any company contribution are scoped alongside the project.
Can you guarantee funding or a breakthrough?
No. We help structure the project, find relevant expertise, investigate funding, and coordinate the collaboration. Funders decide on awards, researchers confirm participation, and research outcomes remain uncertain.
